I love how bright and summery this outfit is! And the little bows on the back of the shirt are too cute. I will definitely wear this pairing more often!

How cute is this yellow polka dot blouse? I haven’t worn it often because it reminds me of an Easter egg for some reason. I think the navy pants helped to tone that feeling down a bit for me.

Have you guys ever heard of Fashionfit? It’s a pretty sweet website that lets users review items of clothing for quality, fit, etc. They have an impressive stock of products, making it a great place to check out before buying that next item for your closet.

They gifted me this skirt to review, and I have to say, I’m impressed. The skirt rocks! I can’t get over how fun the classic pleating is, and the asymmetrical hemline really spices things up. If you’re interested in purchasing the skirt, be sure to check out my review on FashionFit!

Our little Lucy is settling is so nicely! We can’t get over how quickly she seems to have adapted to life with us. Even though the Humane Society picked her up as a stray, she must have belonged to someone at some point. She’s just too sweet and used to indoor life to have been a stray forever. I still don’t have many photos, but this is one that I managed to snag!

I featured Uncommon Goods in a recent post, here, and I have one more necklace to show you! This necklace is so bright and fun that I couldn’t resist. The first necklaces that I ordered (and featured in the previous post) were very delicate, simple pieces. This one is more like my classic statement necklaces.

BIG NEWS! We adopted a cat this weekend! Her name is Lucy and she’s a 2 year old tortoiseshell. I haven’t been able to take a decent photo of her yet, but I’ll be sure to post one when I do. She is a really cutie pie and we love her already!

Custom phone cases with Caseapp

I look really nerdy in this first photo, and I can’t quite put a finger on why. Something about the slight head tilt and bad bangs is just not working for me! Anyway, for some reason I felt the need to address this before continuing.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Caseapp  for a little while now and been really impressed. They allow you to create custom laptop and phone cases for a ridiculously decent price: $37 CAD (not to shabby!). I’ve ordered three phone cases from them at this point. I custom designed two of them and ordered their standard houndstooth pattern (mainly because I can’t resist houndstooth in any form). One thing that’s really shocked me is the quality of the photos on these cases. They are printed so well that they almost look real. If you’re raring to put a photo of anything that’s important to you (kid, dog, cat, pony, hamster, fish….) on your phone, Caseapp will do an amazing job of maintaining the quality of the photo. The last thing we all want is a blurry image of our favourite pet stuck on the outside of our phone!

I’ve been noticing that delicate necklaces are making a comeback. I can’t lie: this dismays me a little bit. My unconditional love of statement jewelry generally overwhelms any desire to try something a wee bit more subtle.

Uncommon Goods changed that for me. I saw a fellow blogger, Shea Lennon, wearing some of their jewelry, and I was smitten. I reached out to the company and asked if they’d be interested in a collaboration. Lucky for me, they agreed! Uncommon Goods is well know for their jewelry (check it out here), but they also make really cute personalized gifts (like these pieces here). I honestly had a tough time deciding on which jewellry I wanted to feature because so much of it was beautiful. Check out some of their other necklaces here and you’ll see what I mean!

After digging a little deeper into the company, I discovered that they’re also a pretty amazing place. Their lowest paid worker starts at 50% above minimum wage (pretty unheard of), and they donate $1 of every purchase to a non-for-profit of your choice. A company that sells beautiful jewelry and is socially conscious is definitely a solid win in my books!

I also got this really cute candle from them, which smells amazing. Figured I should be prepared for our next power outage (Last time we were so, SO unprepared. We had to hang a tiny kinetic flashlight from the ceiling and wind it up every few minutes in order to keep even the tiniest stream of light in the house).
